Information about EAL in Scotland

 

 

This wiki has been set up to help students, teachers and others who are interested in finding out a bit more about English as an Additional Language.

Some background reading:

There are many books about English as a Foreign, Second or Additional language; finding what is most useful for you may take some time. However, there are some basic introductions that could help you to get started.

The General Teaching Council for Scotland has official information about regulations, qualifications and applying for jobs; there is no initial teaching qualification for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in Scotland. There are therefore special requirements for registration in this category. Further information is on the GTC site about TESOL
